Wow, it's been a while since i posted last. A lot has happened since my last post. We got a new pup from the shelter - pit bull mix named Checkers. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo cute! He's been great and seems to have a really low key, sweet personality. We start obedience training this Saturday. I love him so. Pics to come.
I go back to work/school tomorrow - Friday the 14th. Too soon, but i can't complain that i didn't relaxe enough! I'm kinda ready. I'll have same kiddos as last year with a few sprinkled in. Should be interesting as i've never moved up with a group before.
Getting an house interior makeover today and in days to come. Interior painting in most rooms and new flooring in all the house. Excited, but already not liking the 'mess' of having to move our personal stuff here and there, but it's part of the process. Guess i need to take pics of this, too.
I've done poorly on the 365 page a day project. May have to either make due with what i've done or do it next year - or both! Did take a really awesome and fun web class with Rene Pearson this summer on digi scrapping and i LOVED it! And plan to do more with her and Jessica Sprague in the nearest future. I want to do digi, but need to do hybrid as i have too much stuff to just go completely digi.
Signing off for now. Who knows when i'll be back on. Sooner than i did this time.

Back Home
Got back from a great visit with my brother and his family. 4 days of down time and family time. Got to see real, live rain! Thankfully it either followed us or God simply answered many prayers for it. Got to spend time with a dear high school friend and we drove around Arlington to reminisce about our younger days and hangouts! It was a blast to the past, for sure! Spent Wed at Hawaiian Falls water park in Mansfield; overcast day may it perfect! My sis-in-law won a cabana so we got a covered little hut/building to hang out in for small breaks and such! To end the visit, we got to wake up at around 5:30 a.m. to my brother telling us to get into the tub, that there was a possible tornado coming! That's what i'd call a rude awakening. But we were kept safe, thank GOD! Now we're home and i'm trying to think what all i need to do in these last 2 weeks of my summer break before i return to my job on the 14th. I knew it would come, but not quite ready.

camera straps
Just thought i'd post a pic of camera straps i saw on Stacy J's board. Cool. Thinking i might need one - soon! I'm thinking either the teal or lime! Probably lime! I believe the link is www.photojojo.com.

Sad day . . .
Both Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett died! Really liked his earlier music, and she really was a beautiful person. Makes one think about life and eternity . . .

Everyone's Doin' It . . .
according to Ali Edwards and Cathy Z. So now i'm gonna do it.
Outside my window: The sun just beginning to set, making our backyard very bright.
I am thinking about: the mess my scraproom is in and how much time i'm spending cleaning and rearranging, but NOT scrapping!
I am thankful: A/C since it has been so STINKIN' hot here in central Texas. Nothing like 100+ temps! YEAH A/C!!
From the kitchen: Quesadillas for dinner! Brown rice, black beans, red tomatoes, cheddar cheese, white chicken breast meat, etc. Quite colorful, no? :)
I am wearing: My fav and only Barry Manilow concert t-shirt and black shorts.
I am creating: a mess in my scraproom, as i said above!
I am going: to my scraproom in a bit to work in and on it some more. Hopefully tomorrow to car wash, Curves then Bible study in the p.m.
I am reading: Believing God by Beth Moore, along with parts of the Bible; Romans 4.
I'm hoping: for rain and cooler temps - SOOOOOON!
I'm hearing: the T.V. in the background playing "Zach and Cody" and the A/C running.
Around the house: dust bunnies that need to be sucked up by vacuum. Also little hot spots (piles) that need to find a permanent home.
One of my favorite things: would have to be summer break in my A/C home.
A few plans for the rest of the week: continue working in and on scraproom, Bible study, scrapathon on Saturday, read my new photography book.
I liked this! Neat for daily journal entries.

Odds and ends
LIBRA - The Harmonizer (Sept 23 - Oct 22)Nice to everyone they meet. Can't make up their mind. Have own unique appeal. Creative, energetic, and very social. Hates to be alone. Peaceful, generous. Very loving and beautiful. Flirtatious. Give in too easily. Procrastinators. Very gullible.
{got this in an email and thought it had some accurate things.}
Going on to day 6 tomorrow of summer break (not counting weekends). Staying fairly busy.

School's out for Summer!
"Summer time and the livin' is easy."
Or so I hope! Summer break, for me, officially started yesterday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. Went to celebrate with a few collegues at Hula Hut in Austin. Had a Lake Austin Lemonade and fish tacos! Yum! Took a boat ride with the girls through a place Joylynn called "Venice of Austin" Evidently it's this island of absolutely gorgeous, humongous homes. Breathtaking! If only . . . .
Today, started the day with WW meeting (getting back into the swing of things there), a trip to Archiver's (where i saw a announcement of a travel album class i want to take; they won't be signing up people until the 15th :( oh well), and to the post office to pick up my package. Now i'm home and just gonna chill, do my Bible study homework, shower, and whatever else hits my fancy. I'll start getting into some housework on Monday! Until then, i'm going to enjoy the hot weekend.
Things i need to photograph:
my makeup
Bath & body stuff
self portrait
hair products
my new Coach purse (a student gave to me)
teacher gifts
Here's to summer freedom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trying something new
Okay, I had an idea that I hope will help me 'catch up' on my 365 photo project that i've fallen waaaayyy behind on. I'm thinking that if i can at least document here either daily or weekly about something, I can at least go back later and takethe pic! Here's hoping . . .
So for this weekend:
Saturday - a pic of movie theater or Terminator movie sign (saw it with a friend)
Sunday - Bible
Monday - a flag for Memorial Day
Tuesday - my teacher desk
I'll come back and do rest on Wed. or Thurs.

American Idol Finale
Getting some AI at 9:30 p.m. Had it recorded while at a ladies Bible study. Nice fast-forwarding thru commercials. Who will win?? No matter what, i will buy both of their cd's.
OMGoodnes, I'm hearing Adam sing "Beth" by Kiss! So good. Just wish he liked girls instead of guys.
Looking forward to holiday weekend. This school year is dragging on tooooooo long. And I love my kids and parents. It's just not right going into June!
More later,

Long time, no posty!
Hello! I'm alive and well. Just gonna bullet some highlights/lowlights of the past 2 weeks:
*recovered from surgery and loving being period free!
*lost 5 lbs. only to put most of it back on. I just keep riding this weight roller coaster; need to get SERIOUS!
*Why are we still in school when pretty much all students and parents are DONE? I still wonder what happened to that new law that passed to start school after Labor Day and end in May?????
*Troubles with the oldest boy child and his 'girlfriend' Don't like her - attitude to be specific. He's making unwise choices - argh!
*Can't wait to have time in summer to play with camera
*Didn't have good Mother's day = again the teenage boys were not so loving, mainly my younger one.
*Loving AI this season and so glad the top 3 were great guys with different styles. Now down to 2 - Kris and Adam. Had thought Adam would be the no-brainer winner, but Kris could now take Danny's votes and come out on top. Adam will be like a Chris Daughtry = he'll make it no matter what!
*Have I said that i'm ready for school to be out! I just feel like i'm baby sitting and doing more and more behavior control than i have all year!
*Looking into taking a photography class over the summer, maybe thru Precision Camera. Heard they have reasonably priced, good classes.

Yellow Scrapbooker
Scrapbooking is more than a hobby for you-it's a way to connect with others. You may enjoy attending crops or chatting with other scrapbookers online. Your photos may often feature you and your chums. Your pages have a cute, happy vibe.
This was what a color survey said about me. Here's the link: http://www.creatingkeepsakes.com/articles/may_2009_color_me_quiz
I think it fits fairly well. My photos, though, feature more of my family, then friends, and less of me.
Not much else to write on. Enjoying my youngest laughing in the back ground at some funny Sponge Bob video clip. I love to hear him laugh!

Hump Day
I'm trying to journal just a bit daily.
I'm still doing well recovering and just about feeling back to my old self. Hope this is a good sign!
I'm not happy with this 90+ degree weather these past 2 days. Where did spring go?
Gotta clean up the house before my bro gets here Friday.
My sweet 93 yr. old grandmother wrote me a letter and sent along with it a pic of her. She's so cute and sweet! I MUST write her a hand-written letter tomorrow!
Gotta be good tomorrow and Friday for my weigh in Saturday.
I was right on who would go home on AI tonite - Lil and Anoop! The top 5 remain. I hope and think it will be another all guy finale!

Journaling for Tuesday
Not much new, however I'm determined to blog a bit more to help me in my journaling. Cathy Z. is offering a BPS class on using Facebook and/or Twitter to journal. Though i may not take the class, i want to post more regularly about things so that i have it for scrapping. So here's some bullet highlights:
* in shock at how much my older son is growing. His voice is changing and has been since about Jan. or Feb. He likes how it's changing. And the armpit hair . . . won't go there!
* this week at work has proven to be better than last week as far as how i feel after surgery. Much better!
* SAT week at school; once done, still have 5 more weeks of school, but the kids will basically shut down, if they haven't already.
* bro is coming in this weekend with his singing buddies. They'll be singing at Dell Diamond Friday nite at the RR Express game. COOL!
* LOVING AI! Adam is hot, and I'm loving Kris! Danny - fab voice! I think it'll be the guys in the end!
* Worried and praying for a friend who is going thru some really tuff life battles right now. I hope she knows she's loved!
* Watching Biggest Loser and feeling good today about the weight loss i've had the past 2 weeks. FINALLY! 5 lbs.!! I'm hoping for another 1-2 this next weigh in. I wonder could i do BL if i was there? I wonder if I'd be strong enough? They've got major courage!
Okay enough for today.

Weekend Recap
Easter was as wonderful as i thought it would be. The music was awesome; the service was awesome; all the little ones dressed up and hunting on the grounds were soooo adorable!! And we had the Easter Bunny there for the kids and pics. I made my two boys (14 & 12) get their pic with the Bunny. I had to force them, but they did it. And i'm glad. Won't get too many of those opportunities, and i KNOW they wouldn't do it anywhere else!
Tim unfortunately had to work. We didn't do anything special for dinner/lunch. Since we've always been far from family, and i'm not much of the cook, we don't do Easter dinners like many do. I think that's okay; it gives us more family time, rest time, and just enjoying the REAL meaning for the day.
Went to dr. for 2nd post op visit and all is still well. So i am going back to work half days for tomorrow and Wed.; then full time on Th. & Fri. We'll see how it goes. I know, from a few parents, that the kids are so ready for me to return! So sweet!
I'm also trying to catch up on my Library of Memories online class. I already had somewhat of a head start when i got the book and began implementing the new way of scrapping. THAT definitely helped! But there are a few projects/layouts that i haven't done yet that have been assigned. I was hoping to do some of this over my recovery time, but i just never quite felt up to it unfortunately! There's a reason; i guess i just needed my rest - which i got!

HaPpy EAstEr!!
I'm looking forward to a wonderful time of worship tomorrow at church to celebrate the true meaning of EASTER! I haven't been to church for a couple of weeks due to my surgery, but I think i'm finally on the right track now in my recovery. So i get to go to church!! I'm also enjoying the Easter break we receive - Good Friday off and Monday off as well. It'll be our last break of the school year before summer! Wow, how the school year has flown.
Happy Easter!
Happy Easter!

Healing and Recovery
Well, i'm home, recovering from surgery on the 26th - total laproscopic hystorectomy. Doing okay so far. Staying on top of the pain, which is a good thing. I'll be off all next week and the following Monday before returning half days to work. Then it'll be Easter break, more time to recover in hopes to return full time after. All went well but took longer than anticipated. I'm hoping to use my time off healing and scrapping or doing something scrapbook related!
Just ordered photoshop 4 from Costco; having a special of $30 off $79 regular price. Not too shabby, and i've heard that PS4 is pretty good and should be enough for my photo editing needs. I think it will be for quite some time.
Can we believe this weather? My van got a good beating from the hail storm Wed. nite. And i hear there's snow in the TX Panhandle. SNOW . . . in MARCH?!?!
Just love cherry blossoms in the spring!!

Halfway through . . .
spring break, that is! Not anywhere halfway through what i want to get done! Went for a nice walk this morning; love this cool, not humid, spring weather. THIS i can handle. I want to scrap, play with my camera, clean out some stuff, etc. So much to do, so little time. I think i waste more time, sometimes, than i use it. LOL!
I need to desperately catch up on my LOM online class that i've fallen behind on. I've also been contemplating taking an online photography class with Karen Russell in the near future. I really have been wanting to take some kind of photography class for some time now. Just wondering if online is the way to go. I hear she's fab!
Off to do the many things i want to do . . .

SpRIng BreAk is HERE!
Finally, after almost 8 months, spring break is here. I've been pretty lazy today. Had eye dr. appt. and hung out at home. I was still so tired from my scrapathon that lasted until 2 a.m.; left the place at 10ish, but came home and started where i left off trying to finish my pastor's album. It's just about there, but i'll be working on it this week. I hope spring break doesn't fly too fast.
I'll be preparing for my surgery next Thursday and will be out another week or two from it. I'm hoping i'll be able to do bits and pieces of some scrapping, but will have to wait and see.
Now that I have my printer hookedup to the desk top, i can hopefully scan pics and layouts here. I'm not real good at remembering to do this.
I plan to play with my new camera some this week; i really want to start taking some really good pictures; trying not to get discouraged because they all seem to be blurry. Seems . . .
Hopefully i'll post at least a few more times during the week. Oh, i also need to catch up on my LOM class assignments. I've been getting them but just putting them in a folder for later - yikes.
Off to read . . .
Oh, another thing - don't you love my new background? I'm so into monkeys these days. I guess it all started when i did my classroom in monkeys - Mrs. Moore's Monkeys! So adorable.

Inspired . . .
Okay, went to Archiver's because i'm working on, or should i say needing to work on, a special project for a special person and it's 'due' March 15th. So after picking up my son from a Saturday detention (another story for another day) i went to Archiver's. Ended spending 2 hours there. Why? Because it was a MakenTake day and i got hooked into doing a $10 makentake album. So cute! Anyway, they were showcasing the Zutter. I have the blue one, but of course now they have a newer, updated one in pink that supposedly does a bit more. I'm hoping i can do what i did in the class on my blue one; don't want to buy another one. It was simple and easy and turned out cute! I'm inspired to play with my Zutter and Dreamkuts a bit more. Teresa Collins has even come out with some premade covers and page protectors, which i really like. I love mini albums but on some wish they had page protectors. If i make my own using Zutter i can use TC page protectors. Okay, i think i got off topic . . .
So i went to Archiver's to see if i needed anything more for my special project only to end up leaving with stuff i wanted just because! I'm hoping once i pull myself away from the puter, i'll get started on this special project. Anyway, the Zutter has inspired me for the day!
That's all for now folks!!!!!!

Hump day over!
I'm learning that i'm not much of a blog poster, but more of a blog reader. I know a small handful of you pop in, and i'm sorry i don't post more often or share more pics. Hopefully in the future. Right now, it's just not happening as much as i'd like.
What's new? I took my first online class of LOM with Stacey Julian. It's good so far; mainly an intro. I still have a few more parts to listen to, and i'm excited to be doing it. I hope it goes well for me.
I'll be making a special 25th anniversary album for our pastor in the next few weeks. It's for a surprise celebration roast in his honor. I'm honored to be doing it and waiting to receive more pics from church members. I'll be doing a 4x6 pocket page type album so i can insert pics but also insert decor in pockets as desired. It'll be the first of this kind i've done. Stacey J. has done some so i'll be checking her blug and BPS to get ideas. I'll definitely do my best to post that one when completed.
It's a short week since Monday was a holiday and hump day is just about over. I love short work weeks, yet it seems it feels more rushed or pressured and i'm already ready for the weekend.
Until later . . .

Well, this week I fell off the photo wagon; didn't take any photos this week! Not to fear, it's okay. I can just journal or find some old pics or something off the web. I want to find a groundhog photo for Monday. Don't know for sure what i might do for other days.
Always glad it's the weekend. I'm still learning to use my new toy - my Canon EOS 50D. Been reading up on it, but now need to play with it. I think i need to get a good photo editing program. Any suggestions? I keep reading many scrappers use Photoshop.
For some strange reason tonight, we've had our electricity blink off 4 times! Kinda strange since there's no storm. Wonder if it is the winds?
Oh, i get to start LOM very soon! Online class with Stacey Julian on how to organize and scrap 'unchronologically'. I'm looking forward to it. I hope i can keep up and that it will be fun. I've never done an online class before. I'll post how it goes and what i learn. That should be fun, too!
Enjoy the windy weekend. I'm thinking the groudhog was wrong in his prediction. I don't think we have 6 more weeks of winter. DARN!

Miss Me?
I'm sure not, because not too many read my blog! That's okay, for it's a kind of journal for me anyway. But if i have a few readers, good!
Right now, i'm hoping, wishing and praying for an ice day tomorrow which would equate to NO SCHOOL, or at least late beginning.
Got a new camera for Christmas - a Canon EOS 50D! Pretty big kahuna camera that i'm slowly learning how to use. I'm excited and hoping i'll soon be taking better pictures in no time.
Because i'm feeling a bit lite headed now for some reason, i'm off. But i'll be back . . .

Happy New Year (a bit late)!
2009 - can't believe it's here! 2010 is just around the corner!!
This year has had its ups and downs, maybe more downs than i'd like, but God is good!
I'm hopeful that 2009 will be better, even if a bit better. I am blessed and need to keep that at the forefront of my mind.
Soon i'll be starting my LOM class with stacey j. @ BPS! So excited about that. Also going to do the 365 Project, I believe started by Becky Higgins. At least CK was selling a kit to go along with the concept. It's already sold out. I had planned to do it without it, but saw the kit on her sight, and kinda wish i had tried to get it. Though I hear so many wanted it that the site crashed the day it went on sale. It's doable without her kit, but the kit is so cool. I'm on day behind on my pictures, so gotta get caught up tomorrow.
That's all the news for now. I am wondering, though, where is winter????
